Jehovah's Witness, Is this statement True or False?

Jesus teaches you to ';trust'; the Faithful and discreet slave.

Please provide scriptural support if it you believe this to be trueJehovah's Witness, Is this statement True or False?
There are some men who have convinced the organization that they are anointed sons of God鈥攖he faithful slave鈥攂ut they are not.

In Revelation, Jesus commends some of his faithful anointed ones, saying to them:

';I know your deeds, and your labor and endurance, and that you cannot bear bad men, and that you put those to the test who say they are apostles, but they are not, and you found them liars.';

It is our responsibility to test and examine whatever we are taught and have accepted as the truth to make sure it came from the faithful slave. That is in harmony with the apostle John's exhortation at 1st John 4:1 we read:

';Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired expression, but test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God, because many false prophets have gone forth into the world,';

Where there is a faithful slave there will be a evil slave along side him until the end of this world when Christ then has the angels remove the evil slave from his father's house.Jehovah's Witness, Is this statement True or False?
Who did Jesus point over all his belongings? Was it not the Faithful and Discreet Slave? Why on Earth would Jesus appoint the slave over all his belongings if he did not trust them?

Jesus taught us to trust the faithful and discreet slave when he said he will appoint him over all his belongings. Its about trusting Jesus' words and his arrangement.

Finding the answer to this is simple reasoning from the scriptures.
Truth

(Matthew 24:45-47) 45聽鈥淲ho really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time? 46聽Happy is that slave if his master on arriving finds him doing so. 47聽Truly I say to YOU, He will appoint him over all his belongings.

THE Governing Body of Jehovah鈥檚 Witnesses consists of dedicated men who are anointed servants of God. They act as representatives of the faithful and discreet slave class, which has the responsibility of providing spiritual food and giving direction and impetus to the Kingdom-preaching work throughout the earth.鈥擬att. 24:14, 45-47.

Governing Body meetings are held each week, usually on Wednesday. This enables these brothers to work together in unity. (Ps. 133:1) The members of the Governing Body also serve on various committees. In caring for Kingdom interests, each committee has its area of oversight, as briefly outlined below.

鈻?COORDINATORS鈥?COMMITTEE: This committee is made up of the coordinator of each of the other Governing Body committees and a secretary who is also a member of the Governing Body. It makes sure that all the committees operate smoothly and efficiently. It also concerns itself with major emergencies, persecutions, disasters, and other urgent matters affecting Jehovah鈥檚 Witnesses worldwide.

鈻?PERSONNEL COMMITTEE: The brothers on this committee have been entrusted with oversight of the arrangements for the personal and spiritual welfare and assistance of Bethel family members earth wide. This committee oversees the selecting and inviting of new members of Bethel families and handles questions regarding their Bethel service.

鈻?PUBLISHING COMMITTEE: This committee supervises the printing, publishing, and shipping of Bible literature worldwide. It has oversight of printeries and properties owned and operated by the various corporations used by Jehovah鈥檚 Witnesses. This committee arranges for the best use of funds donated for the worldwide Kingdom work.

鈻?SERVICE COMMITTEE: Those on this committee have oversight of the preaching work and matters affecting congregations, pioneers, elders, and traveling overseers. It supervises the preparation of Our Kingdom Ministry and calls in Gilead School and Ministerial Training School students, later giving them postgraduate assignments.

鈻?TEACHING COMMITTEE: This committee oversees the instruction provided at assemblies, conventions, and congregation meetings. It arranges spiritual programs for Bethel family members and has oversight of various schools, such as Gilead School and the Pioneer Service School, as well as of the development of audio and video programs.

鈻?WRITING COMMITTEE: It is the responsibility of this committee to supervise the putting of spiritual food into written form for publication and distribution to fellow believers and the general public. This committee answers Bible questions and approves such material as drama scripts and talk outlines. It also oversees the translation work done worldwide.

The apostle Paul likened the congregation of anointed ones to a human body and emphasized the important places occupied by all members as well as their interdependency, love, and cooperation in doing God-given work. (Rom. 12:4,聽5; 1聽Cor. 12:12-31) The Head, Jesus Christ, supplies the body members with what is needed for good cooperation, coordination, and spiritual nourishment. (Eph. 4:15, 16; Col. 2:19) In such respects, the Governing Body is organized to take the lead as Jehovah directs them by holy spirit.
At 1st Corinthians 4:1-4, Paul wrote: ';Let a man so appraise us as being subordinates of Christ and stewards of sacred secrets of God. Besides, in this case, what is looked for in stewards is for a man to be found faithful. Now to me it is a very trivial matter that I should be examined by you or by a human tribunal. Even I do not examine myself. For I am not conscious of anything against myself. Yet by this I am not proved righteous, but he that examines me is Jehovah.';

The text above indicates that the individual stewards of Christ are under continual examination by Jehovah as to their faithfulness. For example, Ananias and Sapphira were 1st century anointed Christians who played false with the holy spirit and were consequently executed by God. They failed to pass inspection.

Yet, Paul also revealed there is a time of inspection and revelation when Christ comes to inspect the congregation and not merely the individuals in it. That's why the next verse reads: ';Hence do not judge anything before the due time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring the secret things of darkness to light and make the counsels of the hearts manifest, and then each one will have his praise come to him from God.';

So, according to Paul, the coming of the Lord is the end of the inspection, not the beginning of an ongoing inspection, as the Watchtower teaches. It would seem, then, that the only ones who have heard God's praise of ';well done faithful slave'; are either presumptuous or they have very fertile imaginations. Besides, when Christ comes to his Father's house he brings the secret things of darkness to light, as Paul says. If that inspection occurred back in 1918 there would be no doubt as to what is true and what is not. But, how could the Watchtower carry on a secret 10-year NGO relationship with the United Nations if the Lord has already brought the dark things to light? It does not make sense and therefore it cannot be true.

According to Jesus, the time of his coming and inspection is during the tribulation. How do we know that? Consider what Jesus said to the Philadelphia congregation at Revelation 3:10, which reads: ';Because you kept the word about my endurance, I will also keep you from the hour of test, which is to come upon the whole inhabited earth, to put a test upon those dwelling on the earth. I am coming quickly. Keep on holding fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.';

What is the ';hour of test';?

The Revelation Grand Climax commentary offers an answer to that very question. Paragraph 16 on page 62 says: ';What, though, is ';the hour of test';?...the major fulfillment is the hour of sifting and judging that finally arrived during the Lord's day, climaxing from 1918 onward. The test has been to determine whether one is for God's established Kingdom or for Satan's world. It is for a comparatively short period, an ';hour,'; but it is not over yet. Until it is, we must never forget that we are living in ';the hour of test.';

So, according to the Watchtower the ';hour of test'; began in 1918 and continues to the present. We are told that the ensuing 80-plus years since then are a short period of time!

Amazingly, the same paragraph in the Revelation book even cites Luke 21:34-36 as a proof text, which reads: ';But pay attention to yourselves that your hearts never become weighed down with overeating and heavy drinking and anxieties of life, and suddenly that day be instantly upon you as a snare. For it will come in upon all those dwelling upon the face of all the earth. Keep awake, then, all the time making supplication that you may succeed in escaping all these things that are destined to occur, and in standing before the Son of man.';

The expression ';standing before the Son of man'; clearly has reference to standing before him while under his judgment. According to Christ, the day of his inspection comes in ';suddenly';鈥?quot;instantly';鈥?quot;upon all those dwelling upon the face of all the earth.'; Elsewhere, the Watchtower always applies Jesus' exhortation at Luke 21:34-36 to the oncoming tribulation. That is the only sensible interpretation.

So how is it that ';the hour of test, which is to come upon the whole inhabited earth,'; mentioned in Revelation, is said to have begun nearly a century ago? The Watchtower cannot account for such a huge contradiction.

Perhaps a more important question is what accounts for the way the Watchtower plays fast and loose with the truth by applying the same prophecy in two different ways with no explanation? The answer is that they are not being honest.
Is the Jehovah's Witnesses Organization the ';faithful and discreet slave?';

';Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. 43But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. 45Who then is a faithful and wise [NWT = discreet] servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? 46Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing,'; (Matt. 24:42-46).

The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, commonly known as the Jehovah's Witnesses, claims to be the faithful and discreet slave spoken of in Matt. 24:42-46,

* ';Jesus foretold that among his people there would be a ';faithful and discreet slave'; class who would be providing the spiritual food to God's family of devoted servants on earth, acting as his channel of communication and overseeing the carrying out of the Kingdom interests world-wide (Matt. 24:45-47). These anointed overseers serve as though being guided in their activities by the right hand of Christ,'; (Watchtower, Jan. 15, 1969, p. 51).

* All who want to understand the Bible should appreciate that the ';greatly diversified wisdom of God'; can become known only through Jehovah's channel of communication, the faithful and discreet slave,'; (Watchtower, Oct. 1, 1994, p. 8).

* ';We all need help to understand the Bible, and we cannot find the Scriptural guidance we need outside the 'faithful and discreet slave' organization,'; (Watchtower, Feb. 15, 1981, p. 19).

As ';The faithful and discreet slave'; it claims that only its organization is capable of rightly understanding God's word: ';Only this organization functions for Jehovah's purpose and to his praise. To it alone God's Sacred Word, the Bible, is not a sealed book (Watchtower, July 1, 1973, p. 402).

The Jehovah's Witnesses are certainly zealous for their beliefs, but they are misguided in those beliefs. The Watchtower Organization, including all the Jehovah's Witnesses, is not the faithful and discreet slave spoken of by Jesus in Matt. 24:42-46. The faithful and discreet slave is simply all who are true Christians.

A faithful slave of God does not make false prophecies

Dismantling the Watchtower claim that it is the faithful and discreet slave is easy. All we need to do is look at the track record of the Watchtower as an organization and see if it has been faithful. Consider the following false prophecies made by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society over the years:

* 1899 ';...the 'battle of the great day of God Almighty' (Revelation 16:14), which will end in A.D. 1914 with the complete overthrow of earth's present rulership, is already commenced,'; (The Time Is at Hand, 1908 edition, p. 101).

* 1918 ';Therefore we may confidently expect that 1925 will mark the return of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the faithful prophets of old, particularly those named by the Apostle in Hebrews 11, to the condition of human perfection,'; (Millions Now Living Will Never Die, p. 89.)

* 1922 ';The date 1925 is even more distinctly indicated by the Scriptures than 1914,'; (Watchtower, Sept. 1, 1922, p. 262.)

* 1923 ';Our thought is, that 1925 is definitely settled by the Scriptures. As to Noah, the Christian now has much more upon which to base his faith than Noah had upon which to base his faith in a coming deluge,'; (Watchtower, Apr. 1, 1923, p. 106).

* 1931 ';There was a measure of disappointment on the part of Jehovah's faithful ones on earth concerning the years 1917, 1918, and 1925, which disappointment lasted for a time...and they also learned to quit fixing dates,'; (Vindication, p. 338).

* 1941 ';Receiving the gift, the marching children clasped it to them, not a toy or plaything for idle pleasure, but the Lord's provided instrument for most effective work in the remaining months before Armageddon,'; (Watchtower, Sept. 15, 1941, p. 288).

* 1968 ';True, there have been those in times past who predicted an 'end to the world,' even announcing a specific date. Yet nothing happened. The 'end' did not come. They were guilty of false prophesying. Why? What was missing?...Missing from such people were God's truths and evidence that he was using and guiding them,'; (Awake, Oct. 8, 1968).

I agree with the final quote in the Awake magazine. The previous false prophecies of the Watchtower organization demonstrate that it is lacking God's truths. If it is, then it is not the faithful and discreet slave.

Charles Taze Russell was called the Faithful and Discreet Slave

Apparently, Charles Taze Russell, the founder of the Jehovah's Witnesses, was called the ';faithful and discreet slave.';

Thousands of readers of Pastor Russell's writings believe that he filled the office of 'that faithful and wise servant,' and that his great work was giving to the household of faith meat in due season. His modesty and humility precluded him from openly claiming this title, but he admitted as much in private conversation, (Watchtower Dec. 1, 1916, p. 357).

Which is it? Is the Watchtower right or wrong about Russell? Given that it has made many errors in the past in its prophecies which proves it does not speak for God, it seems clear that the Watchtower Organization is clearly not the ';faithful and discreet slave'; mentioned by Jesus. A slave of God would not go around changing its doctrines, making false prophecies, or attempt to control the thinking of its people. The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is not the faithful and discreet slave.
Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
